San Pietro in Atrio
Space for art and exhibitions
Little is known about the origins of this building. There are few reports concerning the history and construction of the church of S. Pietro in Atrio. The first date back to 1181, in a document that reports a dispute between the religious people of the church of San Fedele and the De Piro family. A trace of its story can be found a few centuries later, towards the end of the 16th century, when Feliciano Niguarda visited Como. The church was restored by the City of Como in the 80s and used as an exhibition space.
