The topic area of the Cosmogonies project is the Cosmos. A Cosmos seen as a multiverse seen, read and interpreted by comparing the most diverse theories that are told and explained over time at inter-disciplinary meetings, events and conferences.

The programmatic intention of the project is to develop a climate of a possible synergy between arts and sciences that does not neglect any discipline and favors mutual inspiration by proposing interventions by physicists, astronomers, mathematicians, architects, poets, philosophers, astrophysicists and botanists...

The works on display were made by Paolo Barlusconi with many different materials used in everyday life. These materials of industrial production are used as elements, alphabetic or grammatical signs to articulate a story. Each work is created, not by shaping the material according to the principles of painting or sculpture, but by creating, in the eyes of the observer, a sort of change from a status to another of the objects used, thus placing two parallel universes in communication through a sort of paradox. By focusing on the simple form of objects, unrecognizable at first glance, the artist transforms it into something enigmatic and completely new.

However, the creative genius is not left to chance ... every work is actually elaborated by keeping in mind the rules and the

geometric-mathematical proportioning functions (the Golden Section, for example) based on which

everything is structured according to balance-based relations whose raison d'être is marked by numbers. By revisiting objects on a formal level, regardless of their function, each element becomes the brick, the module with which the work of art is created; we could talk of a metamaterial, that is a material that goes beyond its original function, or even of a transfiguration of the object of common use.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing, the conference ‘Omaggio alla luna’ (Homage to the Moon) was organized as an integral part of this Cosmogonies event, including 12 speeches on the days 6 and 20 July at 4.00 pm.
