New Website for the Paths of Italy
Data: 08 Nov 2017"Cammini d'Italia" for tourists and travellers
The new portal, in Italian and in English, camminiditalia.it has been presented on November 4th 2017.
It is the first official mapping of the "cammini d'Italia" - "Paths of Italy", it currently contains 40 paths all over Italy.
camminiditalia.it is a tool for travelers and tourists, a true infrastructure of green roads where you can choose to move along Italy on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by other forms of sustainable mobility, promoting a new touristic dimension.
The project had been developed by MiBACT, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
The list of paths is in evolution, since all the trails that respect the selection criteria can become part of this Atlas. The current list includes 41 trails all around Italy.
The Atlas of paths of Italy aims at developing a more sustainable type of tourism that gives value to local landscapes and agricultural realities, allowing travellers and local realities to coexist and benefit from one another.
Within this context, the historical the Via Francigena Renana, a roman way between the Rhine and the Po rivers, has scored enough points to have one part already included in the Cammini, the Via Spluga, and one other part, the Via Regina (cammini della Regina), that will be included in the next update of the project.
