Archivio di Stato
Researching, reading, studying, documents
The State Archive in Como has been established in 1943 and it collects many documents coming from different places (Municipality of Como, Chamber of Commerce of Como and Lecco, Sant'Anna hospital and private collections).
Documents coming from places that are no more part of the Como province are available at the State Archive, meaning documents about Valtellina, Valchiavenna, province of Varese and some places that are now part of Canton Ticino.
Documents related to religion are not available since the majority of them are property of the State Archive of Milan. Only documents about S. Carpoforo monastery can be found in Como.
