Matthieu Mantanus, Filomena Moretti, Orchestra 1813
A dialogue between strings and guitar (some pieces originally included the performance by lute) from Vivaldi to Respighi, from Giuliani to Tchaikovsky, from Italian Baroque to Russian Romanticism, through suggestions of the early twentieth century and the extreme virtuosity of the early nineteenth century. Christian Leotta on the piano - Recital III THE EVENT WAS POSTPONED TO JANUARY 13th 2020
A rare opportunity offered by the pianist Christian Leotta, who in four evenings – 1st October, 3rd November, 9th December, 13th January – will give a full performance of the 11 “completed” Piano Sonatas by Franz Schubert at the Teatro Sociale of Como, two hundred years after their composition. A rarity especially because – due to their complexity and the, not only technical, commitment that they require – Schubert’s Sonatas are not often addressed by pianists as a complete corpus, and their performance is almost always reserved to a limited number of them. After all, Leotta is not new to exceptional musical endeavours, having performed the complete cycle of the 32 Beethoven Sonatas twenty-one times around the world. With the Schubertian cycle scheduled at the Teatro Sociale of Como, Leotta will also become the first Italian pianist to have a repertoire of and to perform both the cycle of Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas and that of Schubert’s Piano Sonatas in concert.

Clara is given an enchanted Nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. As midnight strikes, she creeps downstairs to find a magical adventure awaiting her and her Nutcracker. The magician Drosselmeyer transforms the drawing room for a battle between mice and toy soldiers.

Meeting at 2:30 pm at the “parcheggio della Motorizzazione civile di Como” (State authority for motor vehicles Car Park in Como), all wearing themed clothing and departing at 3 pm. The Motogiro (Moto Tour) will last approximately 45 minutes with a 15 km route including the city centre, the lakefront, the stadium and the upper town: via Tentorio / del Lavoro, passing through the Canturina streets, Napoleona up to the centre of via Milano, continuing on viale Lecco, via Manzoni , along Lario Trieste and Trento, viale Cavallotti, viale Varese, via Lucini, viale Roosevelt, viale Giulio Cesare, via Castelunovo and finally along the main road towards Lecco and finishes in the municipality of Montorfano. New Year's Eve in Como
This New Year's celebrations in Como will be suitable especially to all those people who want to experience the transition to the new year in a peaceful and quiet but also spectacular way. At Midnight a large firework show will be fired from a floating platform placed in the first basin of the lake, accompanied by widespread music. The extraordinary natural stage and mirror offered by the lake waters constitutes the added value. Resilienza (Resilience)
Banca Generali Private renews its support for art by presenting the solo exhibition called 'Resilienza' (Resilience) by Christian Balzano (Livorno, 1969). It will be hosted in the new headquarters of the banker and wealth manager in Lungo Lario Trento 9 in Como, from 14 May to 27 September 2019. The exhibition showcases over sixty works including sculptures, drawings, engravings and paintings by the artist from Livorno, among the most appreciated of the contemporary Italian scene. 'Resilienza', curated by Marco Bazzini, describes the artistic path of Balzano, focused on an in-depth reflection on the human being immersed in the present. The title of the exhibition refers to the ability to react and to move forward even stronger without letting yourself be discouraged by difficulties and adversities of destiny.
