Rebellious Lake Como. On the footsteps of the smugglers
Lake Como is a land of wonderful landscapes and history, but also the place where the adventures of smugglers, brigands and soldiers have been consumed. In this frontier land between Italy and Switzerland, the mountains just around the city Como were excavated to accommodate trenches, fortresses and hiding places. The woods have been inhabited by soldiers and the trails were crossed from one side of the border to the other by men with huge shoulder bags, often escaping from the guards of both countries. The Tour will guide you for a few hours (up to 5 hours) in the Spina Verde park, a nice green area of Como, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the park, beautiful views of the city and the lake and learn very particular aspects of the local history. Great Tennis is back on Lake Como, the ATP Challenger Città di Como tournament is on from August 28th 2017. In its 12th edition the Men Tennis Tournament includes Men Singles and Men Doubles. Qualifications matches take place on August 26th and August 27th. The Tournament is played outdoors on clay courts. Fiera of Sant'Abbondio 2017
Fiera di Sant'Abbondio, the annual traditional local fair, will be inaugurated on August 29th and will go on until September 5th. The Fair offers many events, included guided tours, concerts, cooking classes, exhibitions, animal fair, crafts market and a temporary restaurant to taste local foods and dishes. Fiera di Sant'Abbondio is an annual fair organized on the occasion of the Saint Abbondio, protector of Como city. The event offers entertainment, culture, gastronomy and shopping experiences for both adults and kids. Note: the Traditional food restaurant does not take Credit Cards.
