Seven ideas to get to know women's stories in town

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, Como proposes many interesting itineraries to celebrate March 8 in town:

1. Get to know frescos of Sante Liberata and Faustina di Primo Maestro di Santa Margherita and the painting of Calidonia Giovio Della Porta, besides other artworks representing Ester e Giuditta at Pinacoteca;

2. Discover Isiuret, priestess of Amon, at the Archeological Museum;

3. Discover Risorgimento heroines Teresa Ciceri, Anita Garibaldi, Giuseppina Bonizzoni at Museo Garibaldi;

4. In via Vitani you can find la Dama della Cortesella popping up from a window. Via Vitani is also the place to see beata Giovannina Franchi's commemorative plaque;

5. Find singer Giuditta Pasta's room at Teatro Sociale;

6. See the commemorative plaque of Cosima Litsz at piazza Cavour. Cosima Liszt, daughter of Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt and Marie d'Agoult, was born on Christmas Eve 1837 at “Albergo dell’Angelo” in Piazza Cavour;

7. At Giardini a lago you can find a statue dedicated to Principessa Mafalda di Savoia, who died on August 28 1944 at concentration camp Buchenwald.
