Collections

The exhibits are a rich sample of equipment, machines and instruments, which allow the visitor to easily and comprehensively identify the themes that were the subject of Alessandro Volta's studies and research, starting from the invention of the pile, to continue with the fundamental contributions in the field of electrology, in the study of gases and their properties.

Many of the materials on display are original of Alessandro Volta, others are objects of the Volta period or dating back to immediately following years; The collection includes some reconstructions, made in the early years of the last century, to compensate for the loss of the original ones, destroyed by the fire of 1899.
The exhibition on the ground floor is divided into 15 showcases, divided into different sections.
